I love this commercial. I think they should revisit it with the new CTS-V. Murica!

Could not agree more and I hated Fords mockery of it if for no other reason than how much everybody ate it up when they were being pandered to and hated on this one just for having a white guy.

Also Neal McDonough is awesome.

Also also, I would have liked this commercial just as much if it had Idris Elba in it instead.

Thank you! I always thought it was hilarious, but people who take everything too seriously just tore it apart (even on Jalopnik).

Holy crap, rewatching this video has solved a mystery for me. For the longest time I swore I knew that guy from somewhere, now I realize he looks like my boss. I don’t know why I never put the two together til now.

If you’re a hard-working American who busts his ass to put food on his table and live well, you’re supposed to be ashamed of your success. Otherwise the last people who don’t might feel “inadequate”.

Right?! I love this commercial. I work hard for what I have, and I refuse to be ashamed. That used to be the American Dream.

Personally I think the thing that offends the offended people the most is the American exceptionalism proudly on display. Lots of people seem to love hating on this country, especially it’s citizens. I’ll be the first to admit we’ve got problems but I don’t think kicking ourselves while we’re down is the way to fix them.

Amen! People are afraid to try and fail, and would rather being others down to their level.

He’s also been in a LOT of TV shows as well, such as Suits and Desperate Housewives. I like that He doesn’t limit himself. Most actors don’t do TV after they do movies because they feel it’s beneath them at that point.

I didn’t want to admit I had seen Desperate Housewives.... Also he was weird as shit in Street Fighter.

As fucking awesome as Stringer Bell is, he’s a Brit, so I can’t see him getting all “MURICA IS BETTER THAN TOSE PINKOS ACROSS THE POND”

This ad sums up GM/Cadillac’s attitude and swagger more than any other....anything I’ve ever seen. That’s why I like it. And why German and ford fanboys hate it so hard. The ad makes them feel limp, inadequate. And when I'm driving by in my 11 year old luxobarge and someone is playing thread the needle with the cooked spaghetti over in his E38, I know. Long after the last bit of his BMW has crumbled to dust, my golden hood ornament will still be shining and pointing sky high.

I feel like a lot of Americans justify their lackluster quality of life over the idea of the American dream. What follows that is the idea that because we have barebones social services in this country, people are able to advance up the income and wealth ladder more easily here than in countries that tax their wealthy more heavily and have more expansive social services than we do. I’m not convinced that’s the case.

There are a lot of extremely (and decently) wealthy people in this country, but there are also a lot of people who live paycheck-to-paycheck and have a rough time. The idea that having more vacation time for the guy who doesn’t make six figures every year will somehow make us less American (and successful) makes little sense to me.

P.S. Do you understand what politically correct means?

I’m not playing thread the needle with cooked spaghetti. That’s the e65 people who do that.
